Ezra Greene has made a pretty decent life for himself. He has a nice apartment and spends his days doing the one thing he’s always loved—creating art. Despite being somewhat of a grumpy recluse, he’s even made a few loyal friends. When he takes a side job painting a mural at a local holistic center, he can’t help being curious about a certain friendly and self-assured yoga instructor, even if he doesn’t buy into any of that Zen crap. His holier-than-thou family already tried fitting him inside a box, and he swore he’d never be molded into anybody’s belief system again.

For Daevonte Randall, adulthood has worked out pretty well. He’s close to his parents and lives with an awesome roommate. He’s content with weekend hookups, teaching yoga, and taking college courses. What he doesn’t expect is to be so intrigued by the brooding and reserved painter he’s been tasked to stay after hours with at the center. Something fascinates him about Ezra, even after Daevonte’s attempts at flirting gets him friend-zoned on the spot.

As weeks pass, Ezra and Dae get to know each other, and soon their friendship catches fire. But Ezra’s been burned pretty badly before so trust and intimacy has to be earned. Daevonte feels up to the task, but it proves difficult as Ezra continues to keep his emotions in check. Dae’s only willing to wait so long, and when they’re dealt a surprising blow, Ezra needs to decide if love is worth the risk, that is…if it’s not too late.

My Review

Paint the stars is book 3 in the Free Fall Series

All books can be read alone but are best read in the series order

This is the 1st book in the series I have read, but now after reading this I am definitely going to go and read books 1 & 2

My Fave quote/part "He licks his lips but I don't shift my eyes away, he has to know I'm watching him. Then his hands raise, he puts the pipe to his mouth.. lights it and inhales....

There's a pause, energy around us, a magnet pulling us together

Ezra leans in, nods at me and I know what he's going to do. I open my mouth, his lips are so close, they brush against mine... and when he exhales the smoke, I inhale.

My body trembles, like I've never had someone's mouth so close to me. this really shouldn't be so f**king hot, but it is" (Damn.. so freaking hot, all the feels)

Ok so... Paint the stars is Ezra and Dae's story

Ezra is a really lovely guy, but really complex and deep.. he is a quiet person and because of his fears and past, he kind of keeps to himself, hides away from the world and only has a few close friends. He is a artist, a painter and is hired by the owner/boss of the community centre to paint a Muriel on the walls, he can only do it at night due to the paint fumes and that is how he meets Dae

Dae is amazing.. he is flirty, care free, easy going and really enjoys life... he is basically the total opposite of Ezra. He has great parents and their relationship has shown him what true soul mates look like.. but until he finds "the one" he is more than happy to play the field and enjoy himself. He is studying psychology and also teaches yoga at the local community centre, where he stays late a few nights a week while Ezra is painting.

From the moment they meet Dae is insanely attracted to Ezra, he flirts constantly with him but gets no where. The more Dae hangs out with Ezra, the more he really likes the quiet and interesting guy, his feelings for Ezra get stronger and are become more than just attraction... that is until Ezra tells him he is demi sexual, which means he only has sexual feelings with someone when he has a strong and deep connection with them.

Dae is a little shocked but then everything starts to become clear and why Ezra never really reacted to his flirting. Dae then decides, ok so I'm kinda crazy about this guy, I know he wont ever want me sexually but I really love being around him and we have become really close friends... if friends is all we will only ever be, well I would rather that than not having him in my life at all.

From then on they hang out all the while getting closer and their connection only gets stronger and more intense.

When I read books a prefer some sexy action (even kissing) asap, but I found I really enjoyed the slow burn of their romance.. it was sweet, beautiful, emotional and absolutely amazing.

Dae and Ezra are made for each other

Their story is an emotional breath taking read... and I devoured every moment

These authors together are freaking amazing... their writing is gripping and seamless

The story as a whole is brilliant, there is not one thing I didn't love about it.... absolutely flawless

I thoroughly enjoyed every word
